IFSW Europe: message on World Social Work Day 2014

On World Social Work Day March 18, social workers across Europe join forces to celebrate the important contribution our profession makes to the lives of citizens of all ages at times of challenge. Their wide-ranging responsibilities include the protection of children and vulnerable adults at risk of or suffering any form of abuse. World Social Work Day offers social workers an annual opportunity to publicise their achievements, promote their professional values and principles and increase awareness of the significant role they undertake on behalf of society.

Social Work is a human rights profession, having as its basic tenet the intrinsic value of every human being and as one of its main aims the promotion of equitable social structures which can offer all citizens security and an opportunity to contribute and be valued.
