One year on from the adoption of the Council Recommendation on Minimum Income ensuring
active inclusion, Social Platform and our members are extremely concerned about how little
progress has been made in improving the adequacy, coverage and take-up of minimum
income schemes in Europe.
As you meet today in Brussels we urge you to recognise that a framework directive on
adequate minimum income schemes is a vital next step for tackling poverty and the only
way to guarantee protection for those most in need of support across the EU.
