The European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA) serves as the voice of non-formal adult education in Europe. They are a European NGO with 120 member organisations across 43 countries, representing over 60 million learners Europe-wide.
As a European NGO, their purpose is to connect and represent organisations directly involved in adult learning across Europe. Initially known as the European Bureau of Adult Education, EAEA was established in 1953 by representatives from various European countries.
EAEA advocates for adult learning, promoting access to and participation in non-formal adult education for all, with a particular focus on currently under-represented groups.
