MHE criticises the DSM 5 and biological psychiatry approach to mental health

Mental Health Europe (MHE) points out that the biomedical approach in the new Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM 5) is restrictive and harmful, and should be completely rethought giving much more weight to service user experience and psychosocial approaches in classifying mental health problems and in assessing the effectiveness of interventions.
