New president meets new chair
Last week, our President Heather Roy met with Tom Bevers, the new chair of the Employment Committee (EMCO). The main role of this Committee of national experts, supported by the European Commission, is the preparation of the discussions on employment issues in the EPSCO Council meetings.
During this meeting, we presented our work in the field of employment and social exclusion, in particular in the context of the Europe 2020 Strategy and the European Semester. We had an exchange views on key issues of mutual interest – including the newly published Social Investment Package and the Social Dimension of the EMU – and discussed the possibilities of further cooperation.
