Social Platform would like to congratulate Maciej Kucharczyk from AGE Platform Europe  who today was unanimously elected as Vice-President of the Management Committee during our General Assembly. 

Maciej has worked with AGE Platform Europe for 8 years and has been involved with the work of Social Platfrom since then. He has always been an active member of the Platform and this is reflected in his motivation to become Vice-President. 

" Social Platform voices the needs and aspirations of different population groups, often of their most frail and vulnerable members – and this mission has taken an even stronger dimension in the current time of crisis. By submitting my candidature for the position of the vice President and member of the Management Committee, I would like to continue support the Social Platform members’ in their efforts to promote fundamental rights and defend social fairness.

The motivation to serve Social Platform comes, first, from the esteem I have for members’ engagement and work. In the time when it is more than ever crucial to stand all together, I would like to contribute to our vision of Europe as a better and fairer place to live.

Secondly, because diversity is the intrinsic characteristic of Social Platform, I am standing for the position of the vice President in order to embrace the specificity each Social Platform member brings to the organisation. Our objective is to find common ground for even stronger cooperation and mutual support. This diversity is Social Platform’s both biggest asset and challenge, which I would like to preserve and address as member of the Management Committee."
