SOLIDAR: Building Learning Societies

On 14 October, SOLIDAR together with La Ligue de l’enseignement organised a conference on “Achieving validation of learning outcomes – best practices and the way forward” hosted by Julie Ward MEP to conclude the “Building Learning Societies: Promoting the validation of non-formal and informal learning” project.

As the Adult Education Survey shows, 31.5% of adults who participated in lifelong learning have taken part in non-formal education opportunities. However there is still a wide range of individuals who have a limited access to formal education and training opportunities. Therefore valuing the skills and competences developed in different learning settings i.e. at the workplace, in social engagement, or from life experiences, gives a valuable asset to an individual. Empowering people and raising their awareness of their skills portfolio creates a basis for further educational and professional advancement.
