The Christian Associations of Italian Workers (ACLI), founded in 1944, are a democratic and no profit organisation, constituted by citizens, whose aims is the protection of workers, women, young people and the weakest groups, in order to safeguard human rights and promote the creation of a civil, social and political citizenship.

In the framework of a supranational strategy, the ACLI nowadays have 19 offices, in the European Union countries, in the American Continent, Australia , South Africa, Albania and Switzerland, counting on more than 800.000 individual members.
The International Federation of ACLI (FAI) was set up in 1996 with the aim of connecting the whole ACLI family in Europe and in the world.

FAI represents the international vocation of an association, which wants to participate to the development of trans-national partnerships and strengthen international networks within the third sector, through solidarity and associative collaborations
FAI contributes also to the harmonious edification of an united Europe, promoting freedom, social security and democracy.
FAI is composed by 19 national ACLI offices and 800.000 individual members.
